چکیده
Abstract A study was conducted for identification of heavy metal pollution from biological sample as a potential proxy environmental due to industrial waste. The using the emerging analytical tool, namely laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS). collected seawater near cement plant in Aceh. Samples is conch shell. dried open air and then prepared form pellet. analysis made by generating plasma on pellet an Nd-YAG with wavelength 1,064 nm which focused lens that has focal length (f = 15 cm) varying energy under low pressure 3 Torr surrounding gas. Emission generated transmitted Maya2000 spectrometer optical detector fiber emission spectrum each element displayed monitor. results showed snail shell contained salts elements K, Pb, Gd, Se, Mg, Rb, Fe, Xe. Thus, it can be concluded Pb Fe detected LIBS technique sample.

U.S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station (WES) investigators have designed, fabricated, and demonstrated a cone penetrometer sensor for subsurface in situ field screening based on LIBS. The LIBS probe (patent pending) presented here is one of a suite of contaminant and geophysical probes developed by the WES Site Characterization and Analysis Penetrometer System (SCAPS) program. The LIBS...

On 08 April 2004, the Laboratory of Tree-Ring Science in the Department of Geography, University of Tennessee, received 14 logs from Larry R. Smart, Criminal Investigation Section, Office of the Sherriff, Collin County, Texas. Ten logs numbered 2600 to 2609 were retrieved from a crime scene. Four logs were retrieved from the scene of a gathering attended by the suspect. These logs are numbered ...
متن کاملMeasuring total soil carbon with laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS).
Improving estimates of carbon inventories in soils is currently hindered by lack of a rapid analysis method for total soil carbon. A rapid, accurate, and precise method that could be used in the field would be a significant benefit to researchers investigating carbon cycling in soils and dynamics of soil carbon in global change processes. We tested a new analysis method for predicting total soi...

Introduction: One of the most promising of instruments selected for the upcoming Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) mission for analyzing Martian rocks is the remote Laser-Induced Breakdown Spec-troscopy (LIBS) on the ChemCam instrument package. The LIBS technique involves focusing a laser pulse beam at a distant target with sufficiently high energy that a plasma is made, reducing a small spot on th...
